Joseph Bruce of Joshua will be the first student to graduate from the 91ÇÑ×Ó Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) program with an associate of applied science degree. The program, which began in partnership with Trane® in the fall of 2016, offers three certificates of completion as well as the associate of applied science pathway.
Bruce began the program in January 2017, and says his favorite part is that, “You get out of it what you put in to it. You get to learn at your own pace.”
“We are so proud of our first Associate of Applied Science graduate, Joseph Bruce,” said Dr. Kayla Kelly, dean of Career and Technical Education. “The HVAC program at 91ÇÑ×Ó is preparing students not just for jobs, but for successful careers in the industry. We look forward to seeing many more students graduate from the 91ÇÑ×Ó HVAC Program.”
The 91ÇÑ×Ó HVAC Program offers comprehensive training in one of the fastest growing technical job markets. With three levels of certification and an associate degree in applied science, 91ÇÑ×Ó is preparing students for careers in industry positions in the 91ÇÑ×Ó service area and beyond.
The HVAC program is housed at the 91ÇÑ×Ó Cleburne Technical Center. Three new 3,000-square-foot laboratories feature the latest HVAC equipment for residential, commercial and controls applications, enabling 91ÇÑ×Ó to advance state-of-the-art career and technical training. 91ÇÑ×Ó partnered with industry leader Trane® to design the new facilities in collaboration with the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3), a network of education providers and corporations that supports, advances, and validates new and emerging technology skills.
